The Gong typewriter, based on the three beols(unit)system, set the trend by concentrating on the peculiar structure of the Hangul obtained with a small number of elements. The principle of the 3 beols system typewriter from the mechanization era is nowadays still valid in the production of the typefaces (fonts) of the Hangul for horizontal writing. Gong’s approach had a great influence on the methods and the process of font development and, with the large number of contemporary typefaces inspired by the typewriter fonts; it is still alive as a great inheritance in today’s Hangul design.
